Round the Clock Support

Young Entrepreneurs will be able to download our private App for on-the-go, round-the-clock support. This app gives them access to a wealth of resources, as well as access to the community, where they can recieve support from other young entrepreneurs on the course. Ready to be watched are pre-recorded video lessons, which teens will have access to at times convenient to them, are delivered weekly, along with tailor-made workbooks. This way, they can manage their own schedule to fit their learning in around hobbies, school, and other responsibilities. Also weekly, are group business mentoring sessions with Cheryl Dodd, our founder who has over 20 years worth of business knowledge to share. At these meetings will be other teens, which will offer even more support as they all get to know one another in breakout rooms and beyond. 

Bonding Over Business

Business Mentor and Founder, Cheryl Dodd, developed this course (and BizKidz) based on her experience with her daughter Issy. Issy was full of fantastic business ideas but had no motivation or interest in her school work, and no way through school to express her ideas. Issy knew that she wanted more than anything to set up a slime shop, and so asked her mum for help. Cheryl had already been working on a course to help people set up a business, so she followed that structure and supported Issy to start her slime business, which led to Issy's success (and the creation of the Academy). Both mum and daughter were delighted but surprised by the quality time they spent together bonding over business, while working to develop Issy's dreams and ideas into a successful small business.

Supportive Community

Once teens/young adults are enrolled and the Academy opens they will have access to our supportive and reassuring Academy Community Area. This is similar to groups found on social media, or forums, and it is only accessible to those enrolled on the course, making it a private and safe space. It does not require any of the members to have a social media account. Within this community area, students and parents can share work, ideas and progress. It's a great space to support and help each other. There is also a Q&A thread within this area where teens can post and answer questions at any time. This way nothing will be missed and students can help each other past being stuck. Questions they struggle to answer themselves will be answered 3 times a week.

Business

Mentoring

Our founder, Cheryl Dodd, has a fantastic variety of learning and experience to share with this generation of future CEOs and entrepreneurs, with 22 years under her belt, of creating and running various successful businesses. Cheryl will be around to help teens/young adults week in, week out, with weekly live mentoring sessions. She is experienced in getting kids and teens engaged with business, as this course has been developed based on that very experience with her daughter. Together, they will be practising maths that matters; calculating profit margins, sales planning and cashflow forecasting to create realistic budgets and financial planning for the future. Young Entrepreneurs Online will be using their research and creative copywriting skills to create marketing material and website content to prepare their products or to sell.
